Beacon Prison Action is an alliance of people in the Beacon area and beyond who are horrified at the pervasive violence in New York state prisons. We were born after a 30-year old black man, Sam Harrell, was beaten to death by corrections officers at Fishkill Correctional Facility, located in Beacon and Fishkill.
Through raising awareness, organizing, and action we are taking a stand for accountability and dignity at Fishkill CF and beyond. We are committed to advocating for a more humane and safe environment for incarcerated people and corrections officers alike. Help us make sure that nothing like what happened to Sam ever happens again!
